Gzegoz Fitelberg (1879 - 1953) was born in Dinaburg (Daugavpils) in Jewish-Polish family. He was a significant composer, conductor and violinist.
The memorial plaque (designed by Olga Baumane) was opened in 2005 during the Daugavpils City Day 730-year anniversary.
