The church has experienced various changes in 17th and 18th century. In 1854 it was supplemented with a stone wall tower, but in 1878 with a whole new stone wall church building. For this historical event at the main entrance (on the left side) was immured a granite plate with a text and year number. The numbers 1854 and 1992 at the tower shows about the church visual changes. In 1916 the tower was bombed and only reconstructed in 1992.
The church possesses an altar piece named “Christ and St. Peter on the Lake” and an organ built by Martins Kreslins in 1883.
